I just came across your post and just wanted to add something.
I was fortunate enough to sign up soon enough to start editing within one week of registration - For that I am extremely thankful as I can only imagine having to wait like a lot of people now.
The only thing I want to say to you guys is that I feel your frustration, but I would like to explain my view on this as an active editor.
There are already a lot of editors waiting on any photo to come in, and as soon as any PAID request comes in, you usually have only about five second to accept, it's a rush to be the first one to accept the edit, so it's a bit of a frustration to always have to drop everything and jump to be able to get the edit- and don't forget about that dreadful message when you accept (very excited that you finally got an edit), saying "Sorry, this photo has already been picked up".
Apart from that, getting a paid request in the first place is already hard enough. I sometimes pass an entire week without seeing a single paid request.
So in my opinion, it would be unfair towards all the old and new editors should Mendr allow a constant flow of new editors (in your point, once a week via competitions), since everybody will find it extremely scarce to find a request they can do. So whether the new editors are waiting in the waiting list or in the active photo pool, it won't make a difference, because they'll be waiting either way for nothing.
I know that Mendr is working hard to keep it's editors happy, and they are doing a FANTASTIC job! I believe you guys are frustrated, but just be patient. I do believe that Mendr will grow a ton in the coming months.
